Shmuncki – a new baby clothes brand for traditional mums
Shmuncki is a new childrenswear specialising in classic and stylish babywear and accessories. Favouring traditionalism, the London-based design house takes inspiration from heritage designs, teamed with colours of the season.
The brand’s ‘Liberty’ range includes long-sleeve vests, jackets, and all-in-one romper suits for little ones up to 18 months old. The clothes are all made in Britain, from soft jersey cotton, trimmed with Liberty fabrics, in pale green and pinks. And for mums who are fans of a nautical theme, Shmuncki has also rolled out a ‘Harbour’ collection, which includes romper suits, hats, T-shirts, bibs and reversible blankets, all featuring blue anchors, sail boats, ship wheels and masts.
Helen Walters, the mind behind Shmuncki, is a mother of two boys who wanted her baby sons to be comfortable in loose fitting, safe and breathable fabrics. Helen also loves the classic old-fashioned outfits her mum used to dress her and her brother in, so she set about designing a collection which brought these two elements of heritage style and comfort, together. Along with the ability to pop them in the washing machine (key for all mums)!
